Another question, sorry just kind of curious. You have the barrels attached to the trees and in some of the cases there is bait on the ground by the barrel. Do you fill the barrel and the bears pull that much of the food out or do you put a small pile on the ground?

I do not know if you read all of these or how you answer to any questions. At about 6:22 into the video you have a bear standing up on your barrel. Do you have a guess how big a bear this would be? In places that I have bear hunted the outfitter usually has an idea on gauging the size of the bear by things around or placed in the baiting area. Thanks a lot, loving the videos.

Last bear in wis I took, I was able to watch him approach with the wind but did hook sideways to cut my baiting trail! He sat there for some before approaching to a position he could see the bait.

Looking promising, I don't know exactly where you are baiting, but I'm pretty sure you're somewhere north of nashwauk. I am also north off nashwauk. Bears have been an issue for pretty much all my neighbors. I have had bait out since the opening of baiting. Beaver pond an 8th of a mile away, my bait is 100 yards or so from a very light traveled road, also a lake about a quarter mile from my bait. Putting out good quality food for them, spraying sent, fry oils, and putting frosting on the trees, not one bear has hit, is there something I could be missing? Not understanding how the bears are in the area and I'm not having any come in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Side note, I'm baiting on private property also. No people pushing the woods.

Had three or four bear the first day of baiting than have not had any back since. Have some one about 1/2 mile away baiting. Hoping cooler weather coming up brings them back. Area 25

Im not having nearly the action in area 51 that you are Bernie. It took almost all the first week to get all 6 of our baits hit. Thats unusual for us, it usually takes hours, not days. Theres a LOT of berries in my area though, and the lack of wind every day isnt drawing in bears from any distance

When I put my baits out it took 72 hrs on my first and second bait to get hit and it took 7 days for my 3 bait to get hit northern mn hr north of brainard mn got 4 shooters coming in am and pm seems to me the closer to water the more the bait is getting destroyed I’ve gone threw 500lbs of bait in a week

To keep bears off your cameras at the bait sight I either carry in a small ladder or a couple climbing sticks and get my cell camera up 8-9 feet and point it down towards the bait and that has saved me a lot of cameras over the years. Tend to only get bear problems if they’re bored at the bait (run out of food) or if they get chased up the tree the camera is in. Thanks for the content and Best of luck!

Once they find the bait as they have wind direction won’t matter now because the bears are already on the bait. That ideal is for you first put the bait out and bears are not hitting it the first nite

I just realized i think my barrel holes are too big.The bears don't have to work hard to clean me out.I'm changing that.
